Undergraduate Program Committee
The undergraduate program committee (commonly called
the “UPC”) is the faculty group charged with
administration of the undergraduate degree program.
Their duties include the following:
- Review proposed syllabi for new undergraduate courses and make
recommendations to the faculty regarding these.
This also includes review of proposed special topics courses
(CSCI 2980 and
(CSCI 4980).
- Make recommendations regarding candidates for special
undergraduate recognition (for example, the outstanding
undergraduate computer science major).
- Make recommendations regarding the awarding of
Advantage scholarships.
- Review core extension
proposals.
- Actively participate in the assessment of the undergraduate
program. This includes periodic review of every undergraduate
course to ensure the content is appropriate, and that offerings
of the courses include appropriate coverage of the content.
