The Undergraduate Internship Program

The department provides opportunities for interested students to explore computing activities in various local businesses. Through internships, businesses assess individuals' performance levels, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in groups. Students are prepared for the best jobs because they are challenged to learn the new skills needed to become the leaders of tomorrow. The internship program is designed for junior or senior students who desire a work environment in which they can utilize the knowledge acquired in the classroom. Both full-time and part-time internships are available.

Academic Credit

Many internships are such that their successful completion will result in the awarding of academic credit toward the undergraduate degree. Such credit is usually used as part of a core extension, and a maximum of six semester hours of internship credit may be used. The course CSCI 4950 is used to record internship credit.
