Requirements for the M.S. Degree

Students admitted to the program prior to Fall 2004 need to follow the requirements specified here.

Candidates must complete the following five core courses in computer science and one of the three program choices shown below. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 (B), with at most one grade below B, but not lower than C+, is required.

Required Core Courses (15 semester hours)

• CSCI 8000 — Advanced Concepts in Programming Languages
• CSCI 8080 — Design and Analysis of Algorithms
• CSCI 8150 — Advanced Computer Architecture
• CSCI 8530 — Advanced Operating Systems
• CSCI 8700 — Software Specification and Design

Program Choices

• Program I: Thesis (30 semester hours)
• Program II: Project (36 semester hours)
• Program III: Coursework (36 semester hours)
