General M.S. Plan

The department offers a general M.S. degree plan program for students seeking a well-rounded graduate education in computer science. Students seeking to explore and understand multiple facets of computer science with a view to pursing additional graduate study or advanced technological or research careers are encouraged to consider this program. The program provides a solid foundation in several core computer science areas including artifical intelligence, databases, networks, programming languages, and systems and architecture.

Required Courses - 15 Semester Hours

Students electing the general M.S. degree plan must take each of the five required courses.

Elective Courses - 9 to 15 Semester Hours

To complete the thesis or project option, a student must additionally complete any three additional graduate-level computer science courses. The coursework option requires completion of any five additional graduate level courses.
