Thesis Program
The thesis program has the following requirements.
- Complete a minimum of 30 semester hours, which includes
a thesis (CSCI 8990) of
6 semester hours.
- At least 18 of the 30 semester hours must be obtained from
taking graduate-only courses (those with numbers ending in 0).

At least 9 semester hours are required in any one of the
areas of specialization, or in two
strongly-related areas of specialization
(with the approval of the
graduate program committee).

At most 3 semester hours of credit for Independent Study
(CSCI 8970) can be applied
to the degree.

Pass an oral defense.
