General Information

The computer science department has been a member of the UNO community for over 30 years, starting as part of the mathematics and computer science department. It is now in the College of Information Science and Technology, and benefits from close collaboration with other computing-related academic disciplines — Bioinformatics, Information Assurance, Management Information Systems and Computer Engineering, the community, and the various centers in the college. This gives students an excellent opportunity to study computing in an environment that reflects its breadth of applications, while still obtaining a strong foundation in its fundamentals.

In addition to the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BCS) and Master of Science (MS) degrees, students may pursue the Ph.D. degree in Information Technology. A dual-degree undergraduate program in Computer Science and Computer Engineering is also available.
