CSCI 4950 The purpose of this course is to provide students with opportunities to apply their academic studies in non-academic environments such as those found in business, industry and other non-academic organizations. The student interns will sharpen their academic focus and develop better understanding of non-academic application areas. The course is intended primarily for juniors and seniors in computer science. To qualify for academic credit, the duties that will be expected of the intern must be carefully documented by the proposed employer, and those duties must be consistent with enhancement of the intern's education in computer science. At most 6 semester hours of academic credit for internship can be applied to the undergraduate degree, and approval of the undergraduate program committee is required. Credit 1-3 semester hours Prerequisites Permission of the computer science program chair. |
